MINISTRY OF CORRECTION
The Ministry of Correction exists to maintain stability within the Republic of Motherboard. Where deviation occur, correction follows.
The Ministry operates under the principle that disorder is not a moral failure, but a system error. And all errors can be resolved.
The Ministry of Correction is composed of behavioral analysts, memory auditors, neuro-pattern engineers and compliance officers. Together, they translate archived data into corrective action. Their work is grounded in the belief that individuals do not act independently, but as extensions of larger informational patterns. When a citizen repeatedly generates disruptive emotional clusters, such as sustained anger, doubt, resentment or guilt, the system identifies a correction requirement.
Correction does not necessarily imply punishment. Most corrective measures are subtle and procedural. Citizens may be subjected to thought recalibration sessions, memory prioritization adjustments, or temporary restriction of cognitive bandwidth. In some cases, archived thoughts are replayed back to the individual in controlled environments, allowing the citizen to "recognise" their deviation and realign with accepted mental standards.
The Ministry also oversees correctional facilities, though these are not prisons in the traditional sense. These environments are optimised for re-patterning rather than confinement. Time spent in correction is not measured in days or years, but in successful emotional normalisation cycles. Release occurs once the system confirms long-term compliance probability.
Importantly, the Ministry of Correction does not act independently. All interventions are authorized through RAM and verified across DIMM, RIMM and SIMM to ensure historical consistency. Correction is never arbitrary. It is calculated.
The ministry assures citizens that correction is a privilege, not a threat. Without correction, deviation would accumulate. Without intervention, instability would spread. The Ministry of Correction exists so that citizens do not have to carry the burden of their own errors alone.
